Sharing our love of Children and Grandchildren

My Tribute to Carolyn
When my son Luke married Julia, not only did I gain a
beautiful daughter-in-law but also a lovely family in the Festas and a wonderful friend in Carolyn. We texted often, spoke on the phone and met up occasionally then in more recent years, by sheer coincidence, I found myself coming to Carolyn’s very road! My husband’s son, Simon and his young family moved into Lakeside not long after the Festas, so a perfect opportunity presented itself for me to visit Carolyn more often!
We would catch up keenly, sitting together in the window
seat overlooking the lake, feet up, talking about everything and our friendship and closeness grew. Of course, the main topic of conversation was our kids and grandchildren. Pouring massive and genuine admiration and praise on Julia, Carolyn would then reciprocate and exclaim about the virtues of Luke and how delighted she felt to have him as a son-in-law and how happy it made Julia. So we’d continue -she would wax lyrical about my other 2 children and I in turn would pour praise on lovely Carly. When Phoebe was expected the excitement and joyful exchange expanded as we anticipated her birth. We were together with Belle, the dog and my husband John in a pub near the hospital on that November day three and a half years ago awaiting the news of the arrival of our first grandchild! Such memorable shared joy and excitement! Besotted is the only way I can describe how we were!
When Julia returned to part-time work, we both shared the
joy of weekly Phoebe-minding. SO even more to talk about- her progresses, funny, entertaining antics and the genuine pride and joy in every little detail of her life. Needless to say, when number 2 was expected our delight doubled, as well as sharing together the sadness she was able to express that she would not see the young ones grow up. She was always honest, straight talking and we shared together many fears and frustrations.
I was able to tell her what an amazing woman she was and how
courageous and to remind her of her strength and determination she had to live life to the full, despite such mega challenges.
We shared together our love of the garden and she liked to
show me her latest design or planting or how she was planning to welcome even more wildlife into the garden!
I discovered how exceptionally gifted she was as a healer
when she supported me and many members of my family with her unique, holistic personal touch. She seemed to have the gift to give you confidence that you could help yourself. She worked so positively, intuitively, confidently yet modestly and she took no nonsense! My family and I will always remember her with huge gratitude and with great sadness that such a gifted Lightworker is no longer with us. We will always be grateful for her generosity and kindness.
I loved Carolyn. She was an exceptional woman and a dear
special friend and I miss her. I know she will have found peace at last and from this place of peace we can be sure that her work continues, lighting a path to help guide our way. Thank you, dear friend.
With love from Julie.
