They say behind every great man is an even better woman, well Carolyn definitely falls within that category.

We were lucky enough to meet Carolyn through Gary and they both became friends. From the moment we met Gary, Carolyn had been fighting this horrendous disease and against all the odds, with determination and sheer will power she fought a great battle or as Carolyn told me on numerous occasions during an Ashes (cricket ) series “she had lasted longer than most of the England batsman”

One lasting memory for us was Carolyn’s love for music especially Les Miserables and after the 4 of us had been out for dinner Sarah and Carolyn finding “the birds nest “ hiliarous , we sat up listening to music into the early hours, it was a pleasure to introduce her to Neil Diamond singing “ I Dreamed a Dream”. 

Carolyn (& Gary) Thank you for treating Sarah when she was ill and allowing us to be part of your life and our children will always remember looking after “Charlie” .

You were an inspiration to many and you will be sorely missed. Sarah and I will always feel proud and thankful to call you a friend and we will look after Gary and buy him a beard trimmer !!
