We first met Carolyn during their honeymoon in Sydney in 1979. We both loved Carolyn from the moment we met her. She was warm and funny and on that first morning together we sat in our pyjamas and talked and talked as though we'd been friends forever. Bob had been friends with Gary since way back in 1969 and Gary and I became friends in 1973 so it was great when we all got along so well together.

Gary and Carolyn visited us again in Sydney a couple of years later and many times over the years either in the U.K or
Sydney where our friendship flourished.We also enjoyed a fabulous holiday in Ibiza in 1987 when Carly was six and Julia was almost four.

Carolyn was always incredibly empathetic, insightful and caring as she supported me through so many miscarriages. She was a natural healer long before she became a qualified naturopath.

I also remember a funny evening when our two families and friends of Gary and Carolyn attended a concert at Carly's high school where Leo Sayer put on a special performance. We were all standing at the back of the hall when Leo invited the audience to join him. Carolyn didn't hesitate and sashayed up the centre of the hall dancing and clapping in rhythm to the music. C'mon she shouted so I followed her. Carolyn was delightful and I remember her joy as we danced beside Leo before planting a kiss on his cheek.

Carolyn was always so positive and stoic, minimizing her own situation to ask after others. She defied all the odds in her battle to survive and survive she did for so many more years than the medical profession ever thought possible.

Bob and I will always remember your strength and beautiful spirit.
